Biocat, l’organització de la Generalitat de Catalunya que promou la biomedicina, ha publicat una oferta laboral. L’entitat busca a un comunicador científic amb fluïdesa en anglès per a treballar com a responsable de comunicació en un projecte anomenat Moebio. We are looking for a bilingual -English and Spanish- life-science professional with a proven record and experience in web management, community management and online communication channels for a new multidisciplinary initiative on High Education that we are developing within Biocat (www.biocat.cat/en/about-biocat). This initiative is called Moebio (www.biocat.cat/en/moebio) and it is focused on developing entrepreneurial and professional talent based on real experiences and projects in the European biohealth sector. We are looking for a person with an educational and/or professional background in life science-related discipline. All candidates must be fluent in English and Spanish (written and oral); any other language, especially Catalan is a plus. All candidates must be internet-savvy and have professional level of the use of:
o Online content management systems;
o The most common social media tools, especially blogs, Twitter, LinkedIn and others;
o User-level of online analytics;
o Insights and knowledge of scientific virtual communities and online media (especially in science, biotech/biomed and business environments);
o Demonstrated experience in implementing and managing online community and social media strategies within the Science/Biohealth sector. Candidates with any professional experience in PR, communications, journalism or blogging will have a definite advantage. We are looking for somebody proactive and self-organized who works closely with the internal project team.
Tasks
Implementation of the online communication strategy of the initiative Drive the creation of social media contents Content editing and maintenance of the project’s website and all its related online communication channels in English, Catalan and Spanish. Building up and managing the online community around the initiative; that includes establishing new relationships with all relevant target groups and possible community members. Collaboration with web developers and advertising agency, especially in the initial period of the project. Close and constant collaboration with the internal project team at Biocat. Identify new trends on Social media Marketing and new opportunities. Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the growth of the community, and periodical reviews and analytics of all online activities of the project.

Start: incorporation September 2011
Duration: min. 6 months – 12 months, extendable
Place of work: Barcelona
Type of contract: freelance
Salary: to be negotiated upon level of experience
