BSC is seeking for a dissemination leader for European Projects. This person will have to lead the presentation of the different EU projects to the scientific community and the general public by generating material and communicating this through the website, dissemination tools, newsletters, articles, and other material.The Dissemination Manager will define and lead the implementation of the projects’ communication plans by coordinating the work of different research and industry partners in different European countries. * Identifying target audiences * Defining objectives for each target audience * Ensuring high visibility of the project among its key stakeholders * Designing specific actions aimed at community building in the area of data services * Engaging and ensuring collaboration with industry * Evaluating impact/success of the dissemination plan for each targetThe position needs to take special care on the dissemination activities:
- Definition of a communication plan for the project
- Coordination of activity through this communication plan
- Providing access to targeted dissemination material
- Organization of annual public conferences
- Participation in events for specific target audiences.
The position will be located at BSC within the Management department within the Communication area, and will report to each BSC project leader and the general manager of the BSC. The initial contract will be for a maximum of three years, with the possibility of renewal if other EU projects with similar requirements are granted. Main Responsibilities
- Coordination of the dissemination work package and its tasks
- Definition of the communication plan for each project
- Definition of the dissemination policy in the Quality Assurance Plan.
- Promotion of the project identity, by leaflets, press releases and manage their preparation and translation into different languages
- Identification of results that can be disseminated (through publications, conferences, workshops, transfers of technology)
- Follow up of all the partners’ activities and collection of their contribution for the dissemination plan update
- Identification of suitable conferences or seminars and coordinate the partners’ participation
- Liaison with relevant European Commission representative and related projects
- Management of the Web Page content
- Management of the preparation of newsletters and press releases
- Preparation of all project deliverables
Skill Specifications
- In-depth knowledge of the workings of the scientific media
- English as mother tongue or equivalent fluency is a must as well as Spanish/Catalan is required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including good editorial skills
- Ability to take initiative, prioritize and work under set deadlines and pressure
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Leadership skills and diplomacy
Profile & Experience
- At least 3-5 years experience in scientific PR or media relations and publishing
- Previous experience with European Commission Projects is an advantage
- Capacity to interact and build strong relations with a diverse members/stakeholder/staff base.
- Willing to travel (in Europe and US)
